Hi, I’m Leon—and I built my family through foster care and guardianship.

When I started this journey, I didn’t know what to expect. I just knew I wanted to create a loving, stable home for kids who needed one. What I found was a system full of red tape, big emotions, and quiet moments that changed everything. Along the way, I became a parent, an advocate, and now—your guide.

Rooted was born from my lived experience: navigating foster care, earning trust, showing up every day, and ultimately becoming the forever family my kids needed. I created this space to share everything I wish I’d known from the start.

This isn’t about perfection. It’s about presence.
It’s not about saving—it’s about showing up.
And it’s not just about placement. It’s about growing roots that last.

If you’re exploring foster care as a path to family—or you’re already on the journey and need support—Rooted is here for you. I don’t place children. I guide people like you through the messy, beautiful, life-changing process of building something permanent.

We offer courses designed to guide you through one of the most challenging—and most meaningful—journeys of your life.

  • This opening course shares the heart behind Rooted—why foster care isn’t just a system, but a path to growing a lasting, loving family. We’ll explore real stories, clear up common misconceptions, and talk honestly about what makes this journey worth it.

  • From first placement to final guardianship, this course breaks down the legal path, timelines, and what to expect at every stage. Learn how families move from “temporary” to “forever” and what decisions can shape your journey along the way.

  • Adoption can cost tens of thousands—but fostering can open the door to family at little to no cost. This course walks you through stipends, healthcare, and financial support available to foster and guardianship families. Real numbers, real talk.

  • What helps kids thrive after trauma? This class shares trauma-informed strategies, emotional insights, and everyday routines that create security, connection, and trust. These tools aren’t perfect—but they’re powerful.

  • We’ll pull back the curtain on how the foster system really works. You’ll learn how to advocate for your child, communicate effectively with agencies, and prepare for the emotional ups and downs of working within a complex system.

  • This final course brings everything together, showing you how to take action—whether you’re just getting licensed or preparing for guardianship. We’ll talk mindset, legal prep, and how to hold onto hope even when the process feels slow.
